Don't Put Yourself in Danger!

Ok, we do not know who this guy is, the photo came off the internet, but it serves as a great reminder, you should not put yourself in danger, just to clean your gutters. With that out of the way, let's talk about why gutters are so very, very important and let's not forget about the gutter guards, so you don't have to get on a ladder.

Why Are Gutters Important?

If you stopped by the roof replacement page, then you already know that your roof is the silent hero of the movie, and do you know who his sidekick is? Your roofs ride or die is your gutter system. The roof keeps the elements off of you and your family and your gutter system diverts all of that water off of the roof, which everyone knows but what you may not know is, the gutter system also keeps the water away from your foundation. When water gets in and around your foundation, it can cause cracking, settling, and more because of the freeze/thaw cycle. You already know that the soil in NC is not very forgiving or very resilient. Gutters are so important, that it is a Building Code requirement, to shed all water away from the foundation, a minimum of 10' and unless you plan on re-grading your yard, gutters are the best choice for this.

Frequently Ask Questions?

The most common and used type of gutter, is a K-style seamless gutter. These gutters come in the two most common sizes of 5" and 6". If you look closely at our friend cleaning the gutters in the top picture, you can see that those gutters are installed in 10' sections, which means, at every joint or connection of those gutters, there is a joint that can fail and leak, defeating the purpose of gutters.

Of course, we can do K-style, half-round, and box gutters.

Currently for aluminum gutters, there is about 30+ color choices available. We can also install all copper gutters with soldered joints.

Correctly installed seamless gutters can last a long time. in most cases, the gutters can be inspected, cleaned, and re-pitched, to make sure they are working efficiently. If your existing gutters are attached to the house with "gutter spikes", or very long nails, they need to be changed immediately because those spikes go through your home's facia board, which means, water has a direct line, into your home.
