Decks

New 12'x 20' Pressure Treated Deck built by Kali Enterprises, LLC.

You Need a Nice Deck, To Enjoy Your Favorite Beverage!

Ok... Ok, maybe that's just us, but a very well designed and built deck, is a very cost-effective way to add additional outdoor square footage, at a very reasonable cost. We are a full service design/build general contractor, which means, we will design your space to maximize your available space, with your budget. We will build your 3-D model of not only your new space, but the entire exterior of your home, so you can see every detail before the first piece of wood is cut.

Deck Construction and Cost

A big portion of the cost in any project, is the design and type of materials used. Next, things like, height above the ground, how it attaches, sub-surface ground conditions (you know, rocks!), and more. But don't worry about those things, that's why you need us to come out and get this project going.

Wood or Composite?

Again, the age-old question..... Wood is more cost effective than composite but requires more maintenance. Composite is very low maintenance, but it can get very hot to the touch, in direct sunlight. The bottom-line is, this is your space and it's your budget, but we treat it like it's our own home.

Railing Options

We love doing custom work, we can make railings with wood, stainless steel cables, glass panels, metal, and so much more. It's your project, make it the way you want it.

Frequently Ask Questions?

Whether you want to rebuild and existing deck or build a new one from scratch, 99 times out of 100, you need a permit. NC law states any project costing more than $20,000, requires a permit. So, I know what you're thinking, "My deck estimate is only $7,500". If the project is under $20,000, no permit, UNLESS it involves structural work or framing, which ALL decks do, you need a permit

Of course you can!! We can add built-in seating, grills, storage, and more. We can add a pergola, retractable awnings, gas lines for grills, even working sinks! You tell us what you want, and we will make it happen.

Depending how you want the deck finished, whether it is natural wood, stained or even painted, will determine the type of maintenance. The main thing is to keep it clean and free of leaves and debris. If the wood is left its natural color, we always recommend adding a water-based water seal, which can be applied with a garden sprayer and no real prep work. If it is stained and painted, then yes, you will have a little more work on your hands, down the road. Or just call us back out and we will take care of it and yes, we will charge for this, but you are already part of the family, so a HUGE discount is already factored in.

Composite is a very simple product to maintain. Keep it clean of leaves and debris and hose it down occasionally. If the stains are bad, you can use soap and water or a mild exterior cleaner. Never use harsh chemicals, as they can affect the color and even the integrity of the composite.

The honest answer is no, you don't. But, if you want the best possible project, done in the most cost-effective way, a company like us can design the project, in a 3-D model. Ok, so big deal, why does that matter? Because you can see your space, see your materials of choice and get a budget for each variation. You can see each option, in real time, and you know the price of each option, because knowledge is power.
